The one rule every arrow puzzle shares

Whether the game calls itself a tap away puzzle, a color escape puzzle or an unpuzzle, the engine underneath is the same:

That is why the puzzle is never about tapping fast. It is about order. The board is a dependency chain wearing a costume.

Step by step: your first board

  1. Scan the edges. Arrows pointing outward near a board edge are almost always free. They are your safe opening moves.
  2. Tap one free arrow and watch the ripple. Note which arrows became free the moment it left. Those are your next moves.
  3. Find the innermost arrow. Somewhere in the center is an arrow everything else is protecting. Identify it early: it leaves last.
  4. Work backwards from it. Each move should be freeing something, not just removing something. If a tap frees nothing, ask why you are making it.
  5. Clear the board. When the last arrow escapes, you win the level and bank your streak.

What a blocked tap costs

In most arrow games, tapping a blocked arrow does nothing or wastes a move. In OutTheyGo it costs a heart: you get three per attempt, and when they are gone you either restart for free or spend a revive to keep your board. That single rule turns idle tapping into actual reading, and it is why OutTheyGo feels more like logic and less like fidgeting. Your finish time and hearts both feed your score and stars.

The three habits that solve most boards

1. Read before you tap

Follow each arrowhead to the edge with your eyes. In OutTheyGo you can toggle direction lines that draw every arrow's escape route for you, green when free and coral when blocked. On a 60-arrow board, use them.

2. Hunt the chain, not the piece

Boards are solved as sequences: A frees B, B frees C. When you spot a chain, play it through mentally once, then execute. Chains that cross each other are where the real puzzle lives.

3. When stuck, re-scan the perimeter

Boards in OutTheyGo are validated solvable, so a free arrow always exists. If nothing looks free, you are misreading a path, usually the tail of a curved arrow. Trace again from the outer ring inward.

FAQ

Do I need to tap arrows in a specific order?

Yes, that is the whole puzzle. Several orders usually work, but every board has arrows that must leave before others. Finding a valid order is the game.

What happens if I tap a blocked arrow?

In OutTheyGo the arrow bounces and you lose one of three hearts. Hearts refill when you restart or revive, so one wrong tap is never fatal on its own.

Are arrow puzzles solvable without hints?

Always in OutTheyGo: every board is validated by a solver before you play it. Hints exist for speed and confidence, not survival.
